Journey to Isla Pulong Pasig, Calauag, Quezon

Sulitin ang Summer!! 🌞

Every year we planned a summer outing with my College Barkada. We want to experience an island escapade. I recommended Isla Pulong Pasig that I saw on a facebook page (Backpackers of the Philippines! Hello Guys) which I get interested when I saw the photos, particularly the sandbar. ( The sandbar disappears at 1pm, so come early or stay overnight and wake up early in the morning.)

Isla Pulong Pasig is located at Calauag in the province of Quezon. Approximately 6 - 7 hours travel from manila. We're from Laguna by the way. But don't worry. I'll help you on how to get there. πŸ˜…

Manila to Calauag πŸšŒ
(Cubao, Pasay or Alabang bus Terminal)
  • From Manila you can ride a bus going to Calauag, Quezon or a bus going to Lucena Grand Terminal, then ride a bus going to Calauag. The drop off point is the Petron Gasoline Station. From there, ride a tricycle and tell the driver that you are going to the Port. The port is near the public market, so you can buy your supplies there. There's a big letter C (Stands for Calauag) in the port with a turtle at the bottom.
Calauag Port

The island is not yet regulated by the local government, so staying on the island is free. It is accessible by boat form the pier of Calauag.  After buying some supplies we headed to the port.

The earliest boat will leave at 7am then 9am according to the man that I asked near the market. Sometimes the boat will not leave on time due to bad weather conditions or during low tide. The boat Fare is P60 that will take you to Pangahoy. It is a 2 hours boat ride from the port. From Pangahoy, rent a boat going to Isla Pulong Pasig. Rental is P500 back and forth. Just tell the boat owner to pick you up at a specified time.

You can also rent a small boat that will take you directly from Calauag Port to Isla Pulong Pasig. If you are staying overnight, you can rent the boat for P2500 that will wait for you until tomorrow.

There's a lot of hermit crab at night. Catch 'em all haha joke.

Note:  In Isla Pulong Pasig, there's a small sari-sari store where you can buy Food (Snacks, Candies, Softdrinks). Just go around the island until you see houses and ask where the store is. There's also a small well (balon) near the village, where you can rinse the sticky feeling after swimming in the ocean. πŸ˜‚ Just ask the locals...

So that's it guys... Until our next travel.. πŸ˜€
